We strive to make bicycling safe and accessible for people of all ages in all communities; yet we acknowledge that minority populations, women, those with disabilities, and the youth are often underrepresented in the world of bike advocacy. We want to make a concerted effort to ensure that New York State is a place where riding a bike safely is accessible to everyone. In this roundtable discussion, we will talk about overcoming the challenges that we face in becoming a more inclusive movement while examining strategies to increase access to bikes for all citizens and how to improve the social status of bike riders.
