During his 2017 State of the State address, Governor Cuomo announced plans for the Empire State Trail. This will include 350 miles of new trails across the state that will complete a 750-mile trail network, the largest in the nation, by 2020. This is obviously a game changer for recreational cycling in New York and we couldn’t be more excited for it. In this session, we will examine who the major players are in completing the Empire State Trail, what their role is in completing the network, what their current plans look like, and the opportunities and challenges they will face.
